Bike and Old Electronic Piano (2013) was nominated for Best Documentary in the FIRST Film Festival. The film portrays the story of Zhang Yisu and Zhang Pengcheng—two mavericks both in music and in life. Yisu—one of the first learners of MIDI music production and now a veteran teacher—takes Pengchang in as a student after his failed music career in Beijing. Through comedy, the film depicts the pair's personal and musical journey. Hosted by the CELO, a discussion will follow the screening.

January Course in Rural Guangdong Province

The 2-credit course PCIX-SHU 102 Experience Studio: Making a “Good Education” for Migrant Children in Rural Guangdong Province will be offered from January 6 to 18. Taught by Dr. Liangliang Zhang, students will be immersed in an "ecological living community", gain first-hand experience doing ethnographic fieldwork, and co-design a research project.
